First Edition. Thick octavo. SIGNED and briefly inscribed by Kalman: "CHAIRS / Tibor Kalman / 12/98 / TIBOR." Published to accompany the Federal Award for Design Leadership, presented in 1997 to Rolf Fehlbaum, CEO of Vitra. Created by Kalman and his design firm M&Co New York, the book is a biographical and design scrapbook; with images from Fehlbaum's life, twentieth-century design, his collaborators, and projects. Front end-paper has a closed tear along the bottom 2 inches of the hinge, there are a few tiny specks to the top page-edges, and the covers have light rubbing, else near fine in gilt-stamped red cloth.
