Frank Herbert (1976) Children of Dune , UK first edition, first printing, published by Victor Gollancz. Signed on the title page by Frank Herbert without personalisation. Condition: a near fine book without previous owner s scribbles. The spine tips are a little pushed. Otherwise a beautiful copy. The book is tight and square. The gilt on the spine is vibrant and NOT rubbed out. The dust jacket is NOT price clipped, faded on the spine where the blue colour has turned purplish. The Dune trilogy in science fiction has been compared to Tolkien s Lord of the Rings in fantasy in its scope and world building. The British first edition of Children of Dune is much scarcer than the US first edition, and seems to be even harder to find than the first UK edition of Dune .
