Signed on tiped in sheet. First state with untrimmed dust jacket, priced $5.95 and includes the code "1/66". This copy includes a tipped in signature of Capote on the half title page. Capote's ground breaking nonfiction work on the murder of the Clutter family in 1959. Dated 1965 to title page, but actually published in January 1966. 8vo, 343pp (1). Publishers rust color cloth, gilt title and initials, with matching rust endpapers. Top edge blue, (slt. spotted), foredge untrimmed. First state dust jacket, bright and unfaded, with some minor defects (rubbed top foredge & spine corners; short closed tear upper back jacket, tiny closed tear and rubbing at top front panel; closed puncture along the back spine fold.) Attractive small bookplate of Daniel Hendrix lower ffep.
