I just listed another copy of "The Colophon", which like this one, also still has the original, limited edition art work included among the articles. In this case, it is a wood engraving by Thomas Nason. Some further explanation thanks to Wikipedia, as noted in the other listing: "The Colophon" , subtitled A Book Collectors Quarterly, was a limited edition quarterly periodical begun in late in 1929, and was the brainchild of Elmer Adler, founder of Pynson Printers of New York City. His idea was that various printers around the world would be willing to contribute their time and expertise to produce signatures (articles) using their own choice of papers, typography and illustration. These articles would be bound together in boards by Pynson Printers and marketed to 2000 subscribers. Some articles comment on a current or historical issue related to printing, publishing or art. Other articles were themselves intended to be an example of printing or a work of art. Each issue would also include an original piece of graphic art, some signed by the artist, many produced by using etching, lithography, or engraving. " This particular issue of The Colophon is from the New Graphic Series- Volume One- Number Three, and includes, inter alia, the "original piece of art", in this case, a wood engraving by Thomas Nason, in full-page, blank on the reverse, in optimum condition. Please see the photo of the Table of Contents for further information on the articles contained in this issue of The Colophon. Condition: This book is in very good condition, with one exception. The front cover is soiled by the marks left by insects that once lived between it and the next book.brown streaks. The price has been reduced accordingly. The rest of the book is without any real condition issues. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and illustrations are clean and bright throughout, without toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
