First printing of the author's first book, very good in a very good dust jacket. The green boards are slightly faded at top and bottom edge. Thin line of darkening on front and rear pastedowns where the flaps of the jacket were taped, and smaller areas of offsetting on the endpapers. The jacket has a little edgewear, and a small area of loss at the bottom of the front panel. The tape was neatly removed from the endpapers and flaps, leaving a little yellowing along the edge of both flaps, about 3" to 4". Signed by the author on the title page: "Peace, Tim O'Brien". A high spot in Vietnam War literature.
