Each story has a short introductory passage by the editor which details its first appearance in print. There is a foreword by William Buchan, JB's son, later Lord Tweedsmuir. 250 + 286 + 228 pp Dark blue cloth; gold lettering; red endpapers; index ribbons. The books themselves are in excellent condition throughout but for a very slight bump on the bottom edge of volume 1. The unclipped d/ws are very bright but there is some creasing at the edges and a small impact mark on the spine of volume 1. The title page of volume 1 is signed by William Buchan and Andrew Lownie.
