Bound in beveled boards, full calf, titles stamped in gilt on the spine, five raised bands with rules and acorns, cover blind stamped with acorn motif and Burns in gilt stamped gothic script. All edges gilt, marbled endpapers. Blank preliminary inscribed "To Miss Fininley" by the publishers. Board edges rubbed and upper corners bumped. Foxing to the outer leaves, plates and tissue guards else crisp and bright with tight binding. Light scratches to gilt edges. Title page continues: "With a New Life of the Poet, and Notices, Critical and Biographical, by Allan Cunningham, Elegantly Illustrated."
