About this Item
First edition, first printing. Signed by Barry Goldwater on the front free endpaper and inscribed "For Winnie with many thanks for her help." Bound in publisher's original navy leatherette lettered in silver; lacking the dust jacket. Near Fine with lean to binding and light wear to extremities. Light foxing to all edges with musty odor to contents, stray mark to front paste down. A surprise hit book from Arizona senator Barry Goldwater that became his manifesto in the 1964 US Presidential race against Lyndon Baines Johnson. Goldwater lost, but his election strategy and his brand of conservatism would greatly influence the Republican Party for decades. Seller Inventory # 140946395
