This beautifully bound first edition book is SIGNED by Philip Roth and LIMITED to members of the Signed First Edition Society. Book is bound in fine red top grain leather with gilt blind stamps on the front, back and spine lettering of the cover. All edges are gilt. Book has never been opened and has a fine silk place holder tipped in. Counter Life is a book about people enacting their dreams of escape and renewal, some of them going so far as to risk their lives to reverse seemingly irreversible destinies. The characters in the Counter Life, are tempted unceasingly by the prospect of an alternative existence that can reverse their fate. The novel Nathan Zuckerman makes an appearance and changes his geography from a dentists office in New Jersey to a small town in England to London and on to the West Bank of Israel. Winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction. Book is beautiful, very readable and collectible. This is a fine copy for any fine library. Signed by the author.
