Signed by Allen Dulles on the front free endpaper and inscribed to a previous owner with date Oct. 9, 1963. viii, 277 pp. Bound in publisher's black and gray cloth stamped in gilt. Near Fine with light wear and edge toning to cloth, light soiling and dent to lower board edges. Scattered foxing to textblock edges and endpapers, staining to front free endpaper near Dulles' signature. Contents lightly toned. In a Near Fine price-clipped dust jacket with light toning and soiling. The long-serving director of the Central Intelligence Agency's thoughts on spycraft, based on his WWII and Cold War experiences. It was ghostwritten by prolific author and CIA officer E. Howard Hunt among others. A classic of espionage nonfiction.
