Item description from seller

Signed and inscribed by author to noted African-American sociologist Adelaide Cromwell [Hill]: "With feelings of friendship and real appreciation for without your help and encouragement this book would never have been written." First edition. Clearly a well-read copy, with a few pencil marks to margins and forward lean to spine. Dust jacket fair only, with heavy chipping and shelfwear. A wonderful inscription from the Sierra Leonean scholar, and an excellent association.
