Later half-cloth and marbled boards. 8vo. xxxii, 376pp. Illustrated. Inscribed by the author to British barrister and conservative MP, George Cavendish-Bentinck. The author of this book, Sir John Charles Robinson, was a renowned art connoisseur and collector who was appointed the first curator of South Kensington Museum in 1853. A good copy with some rubbing and edgewear to the covers. The leather spine label is lightly wrinkled and there is a small stain at the bottom of the spine. The text is very good with some light soiling and wear. A few pages have some light spotting in the margins.
