First edition (as stated upon copyright page) INSCRIBED, SIGNED, AND DATED BY THE AUTHOR. 108 pages. Hardcover: H 28.75cm x L 22cm. Dust jacket rubbed; 3cm closed tear at top of front panel; slight scuffing and bumping at spine and flap fold ends; foxing to dj's blank verso. Blue cloth with gilt stamping. Foxing to edges as well as to several initial and rear leaves; occasional light foxing spots to interior pages. Binding is firm. Else a very good+ copy in a very good- dust jacket with the author's four-line ink inscription upon the title page: "To John, | Best Wishes, | Louis Saillard | 10-15-82." With endpaper illustrations, Introduction by Columbus & Greenville Railway Chairman and President Sam Y. Wilhite, b/w photographs and illustrations including several schematic drawings, two color photographs, Bibliography, and Index. Quite uncommon history of the Columbus & Greenville Railroad which ran an 170 mile route across north-central Mississippi from the state's eastern hills to the western flatland Delta region inclusive of the major towns of Columbus, West Point, Winona, Greenwood, Indianola, and Greenville. {MS Shelf #4}.…
