Danger Close by Colonel Stuart Tootal DSO OBE, Hardcover, First UK Edition (2009), SIGNED. Book in very good condition, in a similar unclipped dust jacket. The book has bumping to the spine ends and slight ageing to the page edges. The dust jacket shows minor wear to the extremities. Overall a very nice copy. (See pictures). The book is signed by the author to the title page, with the inscription 'Untrinque Paratus'. This is the Latin for 'Ready for Anything'. The author was responsible for commanding 3 PARA in Afghanistan. 3 PARA's original deployment to the province of Helmand in 2006 was heralded as a peace mission, but it ended in serious combat with the Taliban. The battle group won numerous gallantry decorations, including the Victoria Cross, but they were not without the cost of many wounded and killed in action.
