About the Author

Dark of the Moon is Janice Daugharty's first novel. Janice was born in Echols County, Georgia, second in a family of seven children, to parents who jointly farmed and worked the timber on land passed down by their ancestors. She married early and then returned to school to study English in her thirties. Dark of the Moon evolved from her life in Echols County, listening to the tall tales and dialect, and often what was not said as much as what was.
