8vo.,424pp plus 8 pgs. ads in rear. Sharp First Edition, First Printing with all issue points called for; "presumptive" Bound in publisher's original brown cloth with titles, borders and decoration in black on front board and in gilt on spine. Square, tight and clean throughout with just a touch of page toning. Rubbing to edges, hinges and tips. Some bumping to spine ends. Tear in paper in the front gutter but hinge undamaged. Fresh and bright with no spoiling or toning to cloth. Inscribed by the author on the fly leaf. "Miss Anna Beverly Vader, with the compliments of the author. August 23, 1890". There are also a few scattered grammatical corrections in pencil that may or may not be in the author's hand. This may have been a gift to someone known to Jones and as there does not appear to be alter printing that would have corrected the errors, the author may have done it himself before the presentation. A very pretty collectable copy and quite uncommon, particularly with inscription. (Wright #3026). Seller Inventory # 012771
