Aug. 9, 1936." Basis for the 1937 film noir antecedent directed by William Wyler and starring Sylvia Sidney, Joel McCrea, and Humphrey Bogart. Very Good plus in a Very Good dust jacket. Spine lightly toned. Jacket moderately toned on the spine panel and flap edges, with brief wear at the extremities and a cello tape reinforcement on the heel verso.
