Published in the U.K. under the title "Mother's Boys," this novel follows a murder investigation involving an unlikable matriarch and her troubled adult sons. Robert Barnard was a prolific British crime writer and recipient of the CWA Cartier Diamond Dagger for lifetime achievement. This was Barnard's seventh novel; he later also published several novels under the pseudonym Bernard Bastable.
