First edition. 1st printing. Original printed wrappers. Near-fine condition. Inscribed by Ding Ling on the front blank: "To Mr. Huang Keyi, Ding Ling, December 1981, San Francisco." Additionally accompanied by an original contemporary photograph depicting Ding Ling together with the recipient. This association copy was inscribed during Ding Ling's visit to California in December 1981. The accompanying photograph significantly enhances the historical interest of the volume by providing direct documentary evidence linking author and recipient. Ding Ling ranks among the most important figures in modern Chinese literature. Her literary career spanned the Republican, revolutionary and post-Mao eras, making her works and associated materials highly sought after by collectors of modern Chinese literary history. Signed copies of Ding Ling are scarce; copies accompanied by contemporary photographic documentation are particularly uncommon.
