1st King Penguin Edition, 12 x 18.3 cm decorative yellow paper covered boards, [ii]42[2]pp with black and white illustrations by Ronald Searle throughout. In original unclipped jacket priced at 3/6. Inscribed and signed by the author to his friend Wilfred Hanchant curator of Wisbech Museum on the front free endpaper. The boards are clean and bright with just a little bruising to the top corners. Internally there is a little spotting to the endpapers and title page but otherwise the book is clean. The dust jacket is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown) and is lightly dust stained and somewhat spotted with the merest hint of rubbing to the spine tips and corners.
