Lge 8vo, 39pp, 17 tipped-in printed photographs. Orig. plain tan cloth with floral designed boards, fine condition. A satirical Dr. Syntax set on Staten Island, written in the original style of the verse. "Doctor Syntax" is shown in the photos in colonial costume along with the residents of Grymes Hill, Staten Island. Fine condition, complete with the spare paper title label tipped in at the rear. Copy presented to Miss Blake signed by Charles Hine.
