Limited to 50 copies, bound in quarter velum over gray paper covered boards with galloping greyhound on cover under black title. Tips rubbed through paper but repaired and not an eyesore. Authentic velum has brown near the top of the spine on front edge. 97 pages of French handmade paper of which only forty (40) were made available for private sale. This is #44, and is possibly the publisher's own copy as it has four positive letters of thanks from various outfits, including the Offices of Punch magazine, thanking the publisher for the book submission with promises to get back asap with a valuation from one. A perfect gift book designed primarily to appeal to dog lovers and the sportsman. The dogs collected in these pages have been chosen rather for their characters than their breeding, and the verses their masters have made for them have been selected because they are dog-poems, not properly measured poetry.
