Tiny cover stain, topstain lightly spotted, a couple of preliminary and terminal leaves lightly foxed, about near fine in about very good dust jacket with sunned spine and edges, small chips and tears, and a tiny dampstain at the spine base. Warmly Inscribed on the half-title to Knopf translator Pamela G. Bird: "para Bird para Pamela, amigos da terra e da gente da Bolivia, muito afetuosamente. Jorge Amado. Salvador, Agosto 1969" ("to Bird to Pamela, friends of the land and people of Bolivia, very affectionately. Jorge Amado. Salvador, August 1969"). Publisher's presentation copy with the card laid in.
