[We made some effort to make an educated guess as to the identity of Nanna. His grandmothers were ruled out, as both were deceased prior to 1950, as was his wife's maternal grandmother. If it was a grandmother, it could have been his wife's paternal grandmother, Mary Ulysses (nee Johnston) Edinger (1865-1953), or alternatively his wife's step-mother's mother whose identity we could not confirm.].
