Additional photos of these items are available upon request. This collection is from the estate of James A. Van Sant, 1931-2023. Van Sant was raised in central Missouri in a family with close ties to the Trumans, Harry, Bess, and Margaret.  He was a graduate of Trinity College, Hartford, Washington University, with further education at University of London and Harvard. He became president and CEO of General Steel Industries of St Louis, was a founder of Opera Theater of St Louis and was well connected in the field of the arts, politics and industry. He had extensive correspondence with various persons of note in these fields.
