About this Item
First English edition (so stated; "First published 1933"). Octavo. Dust jacket (unclipped; few tears and stains). Good-very good. 319 pages. Uncommon. Signed and inscribed by Zane Grey to Lola Gornall on the front free endpaper in his signature purple ink: "First Book - To Lola from Zane." We assume that "first book" refers to the first book Grey presented and inscribed to Lola when they first connected. Zane Grey first met Lola Gornall, a poet living in Australia in April 1933. Between 1934 and 1938 Grey sent her over 500 letters. When they finally met the sparks flew. See Pauly, pages 301, 306, 307 for the details. Seller Inventory # 304117
