Joseph Perry was the first rector of Christ Church, Ballston Spa. Rev. Eli Wheeler was ordained a priest July 13, 1815 in the church of Johnstown, and on July 14, 1815 was instituted into the Rectorship of St. John's Church, Johnstown. The current St. John's Episcopal Church of Johnstown, Fulton County, is located at 1 North Market Street, the second church on site, the original church burned in 1836. Shaw and Shoemaker 10892.
