Signed and inscribed on the front free end paper of volume 1 to Sir Alan Burns [at the time seconded with special duties to the Colonial Office] the inscription is dated 29.xi.40 and refers to psalm 72.4. Two volumes, octavo, blue cloth, some spotting and cockling to the front of volume two otherwise both volumes are in very good condition, clean bright and firmly bound, volume 1 is the reprint of March 1933 and volume 2 is the first edition (first printing) 1934. xi plus 390 pages plus two fold out coloured maps, one of Egypt and the other of Anglo-Egyptian Sudan; viii plus 418 pages. both volumes include index. [Note: Lord Lloyd was High Commissioner in Egypt 1925-1929]. This is a heavy set (1.85 kg net weight) and may require additional for postage/shipping. [QH] [QP].
