8vo in beige cloth. xiii, 485 pp. Inscribed by Reeve to Olivia Chase on the ffep. VG. Light wear to boards. The binding is strong; text block is tight. Light foxing to text block and endpapers. The text is clean. Volume II was apparently never published, a fact that was anticipated in a brief five page addenda to this volume: "In view of the author's age and the uncertainty when, if ever, Volume II may find type, it is deemed proper to append here the Table of Contents of Volume II together with the dedicatory page. The first may instill into the reader a desire to read Volume II in MS in the New York Public Library." Ships wrapped in bubble wrap and packed securely in a box.
