Comprehensive compendium on the life of one of the most prolific writers of jungle-adventure & other-world fantasy novels, in a whopping 819 pages, illustrated throughout with black-&-white photos. Introduction by the sci-fi/fantasy master, Ray Bradbury, following a Foreword by Burroughs' son, Hulbert, & a Preface by author Irwin Porges, who also SIGNED his name on lower front DJ flap in blue ink. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1975, this 4to has gold cloth over quarter black cloth-covered boards, with 8 compartments ruled & lettered in gilt to spine & Burroughs name in script to front cover. Condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean & bright, binding strong & straight, pages white with just a hint of tanning but completely unmarked save for a couple of very light foxed spots to external fore edge side of text block. Corners show extremely mild bumping. The unclipped DJ (with $14.95 price intact to upper front flap) is also Near Fine, beautifully protected in clear mylar cover since purchased new, & showing a few scattered foxed spots. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have on hand. Same day shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Pacific time (Pacific); later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.…
