About this Item
Hardcover, no dustjacket, this copy bears two important signatures, it was obtained from the personal library of Egyptian-born author/economist Charles P. Issawi and is signed by him on the front end-paper, Issawi has been referred to as "the father of the study of the modern economic history of the Middle East," it is also inscribed to Issawi, dated and signed to by the author: "To Professor Issawi - Gabriel Baer - 26/4/65." Issawi has placed light pencil marks in the margins of several pages, these could be easily erased but we consider them an asset and they do not interfere with any of the text. The only remarkable flaw is fading to the spine (from brown to beige) . The spine-title is unaffected, 192 pages, includes a List of Egyptian Guilds, an Index of Arabic and Turkish Terms, and a Bibliography ; Signed by Author. Seller Inventory # 041638
