A signed first edition of Norman Power's scarce volume of poems, inscribed to English poet and historical novelist Robert Graves. Inscribed to the half title 'Robert Graves, gratefully, Norman Power', and dated 14.2.72. A prominent twentieth century novelist and poet, Graves is best remembered for the novel 'I, Claudius', for which he won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize.A lovely copy of this scarce volume of poetry by Norman Sandiford Power.Power was a vicar, and a personal friend of J.R.R. Tolkien. At the Tolkien Centenary Conference in 1992, Powers said that in the 1970s, 'Tolkien began to write to me about his old homes, and then, with amazing kindness, about my own scribbling'. In the publisher's original paper wraps. Externally, bright, with light rubbing to rear wrap, and light spotting to front wrap. Signed to the half title. Internally, firmly bound.
