About this Item
Sydney, 'Composed, Bound and Printed by the Artist at the Studio 38A Pitt St', 1936. Large quarto, [8] leaves, with an etched plate tipped in on each recto, comprising a signed and numbered statement of limitation, 6 bookplates (each one signed in pencil), and the colophon. Silk-tied double sheets of overlapping dark green card covers with wide flaps, with an etched title-label on the front cover; slight glue discolouration along the unprinted top margins; essentially a fine copy with textured interleaves, complete with the original thin clear celluloid dustwrapper (a little defective). Number 20 of only 25 signed copies, with the bookplates signed as well. This very rare item is not to be confused with another work with the same title, produced in the same year by the same artist, and also limited to just 25 numbered and signed copies! Having said all that, the latter is easily identified thus: it contains an introduction by John Lane Mullins and nine unsigned bookplates, all of which are different from the six in our item.
