From Here to Eternity (Signed First Edition)

8vo., 861pp. Presentable First Trade Edition with Scribner's "A" and seal present on copyright page. Bound in black cloth with titles in gilt on spine. Made into the Oscar winning 1953 film starring Burt Lancaster, Frank Sinatra, Montgomery Clift, and Deborah Kerr. A touch of softness to heel but very little edge-wear. main is its spine lean. Some off-setting to end-papers but fairly clean pages. Small strip of tape remnant in the rear gutter. Not sure what purpose it had. Spine gilt rubbed and faded in spots. Attractive unclipped dust-jacket, ($4.50), has a chip at the crown and a few tiny nicks and closed tears. Rear panel and edges toning. Still solid and complete. Inscribed by the author on what looks like a tipped in additional front end-paper. Not perfect for sure but a decent collectable copy at a great price.
