Add to basketBeautiful and rare album of ex-libris designed by Riquer. Actual examples of 63 original ex-libris- including ones designed for Santiago Rusiñol, Eugeni d'Ors, Eduard Marquina, Miquel Utrillo etc. - printed on various papers are pasted onto the thick buff handmade paper pages of the prepared album [one, a second bookplate for Pau Font de Rubinat is missing and replaced with a reproduction]. There are two duplicates and 5 additional ex-libris by other artists inserted, presumably by the original owner of the album. This was the English artist Frederick (Fred) Brown (1851-1941), teacher of Beardsley and Tonks, Founder of the New English Art Club, and pioneering Slade Professor of Art (1893-1918). A dedication to him signed "Alexandre de Riquer 1905" is inscribed in pencil on the flyleaf. Areas of the binding have faded and there is some splitting at the spine, but this is an association copy of a masterpiece of modernista design in a remarkably good state.
