Monro?/ with compliments of the/ author/ George Crile/Feby 20 1902" (see photo). Garrison-Morton 5624 and 5687: "Crile made important contributions to knowledge regarding shock. He originated the theory that it is due to exhaustion of the vasomotor center. Chapter V: On the physiologic action of cocain and eucain when injected into tissues (pp. 88-162). Crile developed anesthetic blocking of nerve trunks.".
