This is the originally published First edition, First Printing from the New York Graphic Society in 1973, text by Alister Graham and photographs by Peter Beard after spending a considerable period by the Lake Rudolf under harsh climate, studying and photographing the crocodiles and people. This volume was presented by Beard to Muriel with lengthy writings including how/why the title of this book was named such a way By his sneezing a light doth shine and his eyes are like the eyelids of Morning , as well as personal inscriptions to Muriel etc using a red pen. Beard also crossed off the price printed on the flap of the dust cover with the same pen. Loaded with photographs and vintage sketches ( see sample images), large format appx. 10x12 tall, 260 pages, rare original first edition, first printing issued by the New York Graphic Society in 1973, inscribed, specially decorated with artworks by hand by Peter Beard (1938-2020) for his friend Muriel indicating his addresses in Nairobi, Kenya and NY. Very Good volume, ideal for collecting. Extremely scarce.
