About this Item
COLUM, Padraic. THE FIDDLER'S HOUSE. Dublin: Maunsel & Co., 1907. Small 8vo., printed wraps. First Edition. Signed presentation from Colum, to literary scholar Leon Edel, on the half-title page: "For Leon Edel, what's the land after all against the music that comes from the far, strange (flares?) when the night is on the ground, and the bird in the grass is quiet. Padraic Colum. New York, Easter, 1957." Good (few small chips to edge of wraps; professional repairs to several small tears to covers, which have been reattached; few small chips upper edge of about four pages due to poor opening of uncut pages). This copy received some tender, loving care from a professional restorer and is not quite as bad as it sounds. Also, a nice association copy. $150.00. Seller Inventory # 25147
