Overall, a beautiful copy. Inscribed by KEN KESEY in the 1970s (though not dated): "For Isaac Harary: Sweet beasts with hooks walk the brim of our firepool. Ken Kesey" on the flyleaf. This inscription is in pen, predating the era when Kesey signed with multicolor markers. A previous owner's signature on the top. The includes the first issue points ("fool Red Cross Woman" on p. 9 and "plump Red Cross woman named Gwen-doe-lin" on pp. 85- 86). The first state dustjacket (with the 5 word statement by Jack Kerouac on the front flap) is price-clipped and has a slight touch of fraying at extremities.
