First edition. Edited by John Montague. Octavo. 400pp. Dark green cloth spine stamped in gilt. Very good with some soiling to the top of the text block and discoloration to the pastedown from the binder's glue, which is typical for this title, in very good or better lightly soiled dust jacket with a hint of interior foxing and a small tear. Inscribed by Montague:"for Vaughan + Dee ~ this seven years sentence, attempting to set Ireland's poetry in order; after watching blue jays in Connecticut: John M." An anthology of Irish verse which features a 19-page essay ("In the Irish Grain") by Montague, four poems by Seamus Heaney and numerous contributions of ancient and modern poets, including Jonathan Swift, Owen Roe O'Sullivan, Thomas Moore, W.
