Reliures en demi basane verte, dos lisses ornés de fleurons et de frises dorés, pièces de titre et de tomaison de basane verte, quelques traces de frottements sur les dos, plats de cartonnage gaufré vert, gardes et contreplats de papier à la cuve, tranches mouchetées, reliures de l'époque. Quelques rousseurs et trois déchirures marginales sans atteinte au texte. Ouvrage illustré de 27, 25, 29 et 33 planches gravées hors-texte la plupart sur Chine et dus au burin de la plupart des peintres lyonnais de l'époque ainsi que de frontispices, de gravures de têtes de livres et de nombreuses vignettes. Rare envoi autographe signé et rimé d'Alexis Rousset sur le premier volume : "A Charles Guillaume l'ingénieur / Des chats l'éclairé protecteur / Et des chattes le bienfaiteur / fidèle hommage de l'auteur [ENGLISH DESCRIPTION ON DEMAND].
