There are sixteen stories featured in the book, including 'Ah, Woe is Me', 'La Vie Boheme', and 'The Talisman'. Nadine Gordimer was a South African writer and political activist. This is Gordimer's first work. Signed on the title page. In a blue cloth binding with a clipped dustwrapper. Externally generally smart. Light discolouration to head of spine and light shelfwear. Ink signature to front free-endpaper. Dustwrapper sound with loss to head of the spine, chipping, edgewear and closed tears and folds. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean throughout.
