Fine condition 1st Edition/1st Printing hardcover in Good condition dust jacket inscribed and SIGNED by Faye Chapman on the first free endpage. Book is just like new inside and out. Dust jacket is not price-clipped and is completely clean. It has a few small tears along the bottom edge, the longest of which is about 1/2", as well as some creases and wrinkles near the bottom edge. About the Author:

Faye Chapman was homeless once for three months. Faye married at nineteen and had been moving with her husband and two kids from state to state and job to job until the day she and her daughter left in 1994. Surprisingly, it wasn't Faye's brush with homelessness that inspired this photo journal. It was a woman she encountered at Venice Beach in the early 1990's. This woman had accidently walked into Faye's Camera's viewfinder while Faye was spending a day shooting photos at the beach. "This woman, said Faye" had a look of someone who didn't quite know where she was or where she was going until she noticed I was staring at her." The look of embarrassment the woman expressed at being witnessed in a weak moment still haunts Faye today. Since that day, Faye's ambition has been to photograph and interview homeless people in what she calls "Faces of the Shadows." Faye's vision is to capture what most of us choose not to see; that these men and women are people who, despite their condition, continue to live life, find love and have hope for a better tomorrow.
