Facing the Hindenburg Line: Personal Observations at the Fronts and in the Camps of the British, French, Americans, and Italian, during the Campaigns of 1917

Signed by the author on the ffep. Publication page lists 1917 copyright but no edition / printing history is stated. Good- 12mo hardcover in NO dj. Red cloth boards are soiled, have a stain on the lower board, and the white lettering on the spine and upper board is unevenly faded / flaked. The spine is somewhat cocked. Dust-stained text block edges. Pencil name of prior owner opposite the title page, but aside from that, the author's ink signature, and some age-tanning, the contents are clean and solidly bound. NOT an ex-library copy. The author's war correspondence was published in a Kansas City newspaper and arguably influenced a young employee named Ernest Hemingway.
