The inscription reads: 'To Pat and Kermit, who would know-- Isabel Glass'. Kermit Adler illustrated several books. He spent many years working as the art director and illustrator in Lord & Taylor's advertising department before becoming a co-creative director there, a position he shared with his wife, Pat. He left Lord & Taylor's for a short time to become the art director at Saks Fifth Avenue, before returning to Lord & Taylor as the art director and creative director. He was also a watercolorist, exhibiting in one-man and group shows. You can see the covers of the book in the photos. There is some color loss or fading on the front. The gilt lettering on the spine is nicely bright. There is one tiny crease just below the spine's top edge. The cover edges are in good shape, no rubbing. There is some of the same color fading on the front bottom edge. The page edges look very good. The book is solidly bound. The covers are nicely tight. The interior of the book is in excellent condition. The pages are exceptionally clean. Scrolling through, I didn't find any instances of soiling. I didn't see any creasing. There are no markings. No attachments of any kind. And the author's signed inscription is the only writing to be found anywhere. The dust jacket is in pretty good shape. I have it in a fitted protective cover. There is a light bit of wear at both spine ends. There is a little color fading on parts of the spine. The flaps are in good condition. There is a tan bit of toning just off the rear flap's top edge. There is a clip at the front flap's top corner removing the price. There are no other clips.
