Charming children's book that teaches mixing color.
Susan Carlson Scott was born in Jamestown, New York. As a graduate of Fredonia State College, Buffalo State College, and Marshall University, she has earned degrees as an artist and teacher.
While working in St. Louis, Missouri as a pre-school/art teacher, Ms. Scott developed this series of short stories for children to introduce them to the properties of primary and secondary color mixing.
The primary motivation behind the Fip stories was described by the author: "As a pre-school teacher, I found very limited written resources that dealt with color mixing on a creative and interesting level. I sat down one day and decided to write and illustrate stories that encompassed what I had been looking for."
Fip's Magical World of Color is geared to aid not only teachers, but parents, grandparents, and art instructors, in teaching the understanding of color properties.
Ms. Scott currently resides with her husband in Ohio, where she continues her craft as a painter, textile artist, and author.
