In her third adventure, attorney Storm Kayama and her lover, Ian Hamlin, travel to unspoiled Molokai, in the Hawaiian Islands, where they meet up with the couple who raised her after her mother's death. Also on the agenda: Ian is hired by a rich shipping magnate to investigate the kayak company he holds responsible for his son's disappearance, and an old high-school classmate of Storm's, Tanner Williams, has asked her to check up on his son, Luke, a diabetic, to make sure he is receiving proper care from his ex-wife. Soon after Storm arrives, the ex-wife is murdered, and Luke, a witness, disappears. Desperate to find him before the killer does, or he dies from lack of insulin, Storm finds herself in a dangerous chase down a mountain. This fast-paced mystery combines vivid descriptions of the beautiful countryside, fascinating background on Hawaiian lore and legend, and an intriguing glimpse of the engaging Storm's past. Store description
Quinn & Davis are Booksellers of exceptional used, out of print, scarce, rare and notable First Edition books. We are an internet bookstore with our inventory listed on the Advanced Book Exchange. We exhibit and sell at book fairs and occasionally issue printed catalogs. We concentrate on notable and scholarly non-fiction books about Texas, The Early Western Movement in America, Early American History, Military History, Political History and Politics, Law and Legal History, Biographies, and The Sciences. We are currently expanding our inventory of collectible children's books. We strive to keep our data bases current so that when you inquire about or order a listed book we will have it. One of our most important considerations is the book's condition. We use the following grading system for our books. VERY FINE. (VF). The very highest grade that can be assigned to any book. A pristine copy with no defects. Has that new book 'creak' when opened. FINE. (F). This grade lacks the crispness and pristine quality of a Very Fine book. Fine allows for only a few noted defects, such as minor shelf wear or price clipping. NEAR FINE. (NF). A sub grade of Fine and is only a very small step down from Fine. All defects will be noted and described. VERY GOOD +. (VG+). A small step up from Very Good and not quite as acceptable as Near Fine. VERY GOOD. (VG). A book that is attractive, whole and has had care. A very acceptable, collectible condition. All defects such as wear and soiling are noted in the description. We list all defects and then grade the overall condition of the book. You must be 100% satisfied with the condition of the book or you may return it for a full refund.…
