1927. First edition. [iv], 59pp. plus a 32 page publisher's catalogue. In this hard-to-find book the author considers the economic effects of loss of property by fire in Great Britain. It consists of the full text of the essay given by the author and awarded the "Fothergill" Prize by the Royal Society of Arts, December 1926. The book is bound in blue-grey cloth covered boards with gold titling on the front board and spine. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear and light soiling on the boards. The contents are tight and clean with a name, place and date neatly written on the front free endpaper. A signed letter from the author on a Norwich Union Fire Insurance letterhead has been neatly tipped in to face the title page. Seller Inventory # HTC002
