A signed first edition of Elmer O. Davis's compilation of railroad-related events in Colorado from June 19, 1867, to June 19, 1872. From the jacket flap: "From diaries and newspapers of the day, E. O. Davis gives the reader a day-by-day account of the iron horse as it entered Colorado at Julesburg and threaded its way west and south as far as Pueblo, exactly five years later." With maps of eastern Colorado and of Denver to endpapers. Inserted is an addendum with additional data and three maps. Signed by Mr. Davis on dedication page, noting the passing of honoree Charles R. McCord. --- In bright yellow cloth-covered boards with titling printed on railroad ties with mountains in the distance; all in red. Jacket repeats the RR-ties-and-mountains image. --- A biographical summary of the life of Elmer Davis has been pasted to frontis, else an undamaged, well-preserved copy.
