First UK edition, signed by the author to a bookplate pasted on title page. A gifting inscription dated Christmas 1945, on the FEP (not Ervine). The First Mrs. Fraser: A Comedy in Three Acts is a 1929 play by the Irish writer and critic St. John Ervine. The popular comedy tells the story of an egoistic man who divorces his first wife, only to return to her years later when his second wife leaves him. The play was a considerable commercial success and has been revived multiple times.
